In the Town of Fryeburg there are 27 cemeteries and gravesites. The town maintains all of these with the exception of Pine Grove Cemetery and Austin Bemis Cemetery who have associations that maintain them. One gravesite is extinct as the founder of the Town of Fryeburg , Joseph Frye and his wife were originally interred at the top of Frye Hill and doing research in a diary we discovered that they and others were moved in 1871 to the new Pine Grove Cemetery which was opened in 1841.
